1839 Asheboro Female Academy Gets A Makeover

Four years ago Trees NC took the lead in a project to renovate the historic 1839 Asheboro Female Academy, to become a unique educational resource and community park. With new park restrooms and picnic area nearly completed, we had to make sure that the 1839 Academy continues to remain well preserved - and beautiful! A special thanks to all the folks that have made this project a great success. To name a few, architect Steve Cofer, designer Kathie Thompson, IIDA, builders Jeff Brantley and Brooks Hedrick, electrician Larry Parks, and longtime Trees NC supporter Bob Burkhead.
