NC Arbor Day Art Contest Announcement for Randolph County

TreesNC is excited to announce our  2015 Randolph County NC Arbor Day Art Contest.  The contest is open to Randolph County youth - and tree lovers of all ages.   ( pictured are some of the winners of our 2014 Arbor Day art contest, along with Asheboro Mayor David Smith and Councilman Edward Burks )

Rules for the competition are simple – all entries must be submitted on a standard sized 8.5” x 11” paper.  Beyond that, the art may incorporate paint, crayon, pencil, or other media.  Entries will be judged in the following age categories:  6 years and under, 7-9, 10-12, 13-18 and 19 and older. To qualify for the competition, participants are asked to deliver their tree themed art to Books-A-Million at the Randolph Mall in Asheboro by Monday, March 16th.

Support from local sponsors will provide a variety of fun prizes for contest winners.

Contest winners will receive their awards during the NC Arbor Day Celebration to be held on Friday March 20st at Randolph Mall’s Center Court.   This event promises both fun and educational opportunities for the entire family, and will include a Tree-Give-Away, educational tables from local environmental organizations, a flag ceremony and music by the Charles W. McCrary Elementary School’s UNITE Club Drum Group.

The TreesNC mission is to inspire and inform citizens at the grassroots level to work together as environmental advocates in their communities.
