Trees NC Arbor Day Celebration Includes 500 Tree Give Away

Trees NC in partnership with Keep Randolph County Beautiful will give away 500 Norway Spruce trees as part of its annual NC Arbor Day Celebration, to be held Saturday, March 18th at Asheboro’s Bicentennial Park.

“Norway Spruce trees are hardy evergreens that stay beautiful year around,” said Bob Langston, TreesNC Board Chair, who has been busy preparing for the event.  The tree give-away will begin Saturday at 1:30 PM, kicking off the Arbor Day Celebration.

“NC Arbor Day helps us to remember the important role that trees play in our lives.”  said Langston.  “Anytime you plant a tree you are helping stabilize soil, protecting air quality and getting exercise, too!”

The NC Arbor Day Celebration promises both fun and educational opportunities for the entire family and will include educational tables from local environmental organizations.   This year’s Celebration  will take place in coordination with the Downtown Asheboro St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.

Sponsors for this year’s event include Trees NC, Randolph Electric Membership Corporation, Keep Randolph County Beautiful, UNITE Club at Charles W. McCrary Elementary School, Four Saints Brewing Company and The Courier-Tribune.
