Kids Plant Seeds for the Future

Spring is in the air, and members of the Central Boys and Girls Club in Asheboro are planting seeds for the warm months ahead. Trees NC board member Chad Phillips is leading the project to teach these young people how to properly grow vegetables and flowers from seed.

"I think this is a good opportunity for the kids, most of whom have yet to experience gardening," said Phillips, Director of the Trees NC greenhouse program.

In a few weeks the plants and flowers will be transplanted to the East Side Senior/Youth Community Garden. Thanks go out to the Community Foundation for Randolph County and the Randolph Hospital Community Health Foundation for support of the community garden and greenhouse programs.
