Collaboration Grows for Trees NC
/
Residents of Kernersville have a tall new tree that will brighten the holiday season for years to come. The twenty foot cryptomeria was planted through a collaboration between Trees NC, the City of Kernersville and Modern Woodmen of America.
Braving the chilly weather, Kernersville Parks and Rec. Director John Edwards led a team of volunteers who ( with help of a backhoe ) prepared the site and lifted the tree into place.
The planting location is at The Depot, a historic site located near Kernersville's busy downtown area.
Funding from Modern Woodmen covered the cost of the tree, along with several Dogwood trees that were planted by volunteers later in the day.
Through collaboration, we work wonders!
