North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue has signed a proclamation reminding North Carolinians that Friday, March 18 is the state's official Arbor Day. TREES NC worked with the office of Representative Pat Hurley of Randolph County, as well as the office of the Governor, to draft the proclamation, which in part "urge[s] all citizens to support efforts to protect trees and woodlands, and plant trees to gladden the heart and provide for the well-being of this and future generations."
