TREES NC plants Johnny Appleseed trees in Greensboro, NC
/
TREES NC, in partnership with Modern Woodmen of America, will plant three American Forests Johnny Appleseed apple tree saplings at Pilot Elementary School in Greensboro, NC on Monday, May 23 at 8:30 a.m.
The saplings are descendants of the last known living apple tree planted by Johnny Appleseed himself on a farm in Ohio that dates to 1837. Students will learn about Johnny Appleseed as well as how to properly plant and care for trees from modern-day Johnny Appleseed and TREES NC co-founder Tim Womick—known to many as Appleseedz.
